Discussion about the Imsbach gallery

During the discussion, the audience complained, among other things, that it would be at least three years before the parish hall was available. There is therefore no public space in the village for smaller events for up to 50 people. The darts players are also affected. The choral society and fanfare band are currently rehearsing in the large hall. One resident suggested installing a temporary, cheaper external staircase as a temporary solution.

There were also differing views within the council. Philipp Zubiller asked whether it would be better to "think one size bigger" and use the staircase to enlarge the too-small sports hall and the even smaller kitchen in the community hall as an overall project. The council agreed to delegate the issue to the building committee. It is to clarify in a timely manner what type of staircase could be built where and at what cost, as well as obtaining the relevant offers. At one of the next meetings, the council intends to decide how to proceed with the gallery.

Fountain and cemetery occupy council

In addition to the discussion about the gallery in the community hall, the Imsbach municipal council also discussed the condition of the cemetery and mortuary at its most recent meeting. Councillor Kirsten Heise criticized the visually run-down condition of the mortuary. In addition, an adjoining room was full of junk. She pleaded for the mortuary to be repainted and tidied up as a first step. She suggested that this could also be done by the council members themselves, which met with an open ear from the council.

Mayor Oliver Krupp also distributed pictures of the entrance gates to the cemetery. Some of the fastenings have broken out of the masonry and the metal gates are also rusty. Tenders are now to be obtained for the renovation of the four gates. Renovation work is also currently underway on the footpaths, in particular the dilapidated main path is being repaved. Despite unforeseen circumstances, the calculated costs of 80,000 euros will only be slightly exceeded, according to Krupp.

According to the mayor, a citizen of Imsbach suggested that the fountain on Brunnenplatz should be made to bubble again. The man had drawn up a detailed work and cost plan on his own initiative. However, according to Krupp, it is unclear why the fountain was shut down many years ago, i.e. whether the fountain bowl is leaking or whether there is a technical defect. The council unanimously called for the cause to be investigated independently first. In principle, the council welcomed the reopening of the fountain.

The council also decided - as discussed at the previous meeting - to reserve four parking spaces at the fire station for emergency services.
