Ambitious timetable for white pit
Alderman Thomas Fischer reported that a meeting had been held with experts to discuss how the collapsed entrance area of the pit could be repaired cost-effectively. A decision had not yet been made. Due to the weather, the work should only start after the winter and must be completed by October 2026 in accordance with the funding guidelines. The council described the schedule as "ambitious". According to Fischer, it may be necessary to apply to postpone the work and funding until 2027. The new playground at the Grubenhütte would also have to be planned in concrete terms. So far, only a sketch exists. The council awarded the implementation planning of all work to VG Winnweiler.
The council reacted with relief that the "eternal" issue of the Krottenpfuhl farm track has come to an end. Four local residents have laid the path with grass stones and made it easier to drive on. The municipality paid for the material and the excavator hire. The volunteers sacrificed five days and received extra praise from the council.
During the residents' question time, one resident called for the gallery in the community hall, which had been closed for years for fire safety reasons, to be reopened. He suggested involving the local clubs for the necessary work (escape staircase). Donations should be collected to reduce costs. The council agreed with the proposals. The building committee is currently looking at the escape staircase and its alternatives and is seeking bids from suitable companies.
