New Leadership for the Friends Association

Sebastian Stollhof will serve as the new chair of the Imsbach Friends Association. He succeeds André Ebbing as first chair, who wishes to step back from his duties for professional reasons. The position of second chair was also filled at the most recent annual general meeting: Thomas Fischer will take over from Markus Kirch for the next three years. Both former chairmen will remain on the association’s board as members. Bernhard Scheib, a tireless volunteer, was also bid farewell from the executive board with a heavy heart, but will remain available to the association as an “all-arounder” on call.

Dissolution is not an option

As his first official act, Stollhof thanked his visibly moved predecessor, Ebbing, who had co-founded the Friends Association in 2019 and had led it with outstanding dedication ever since. Words of praise were also directed at Markus Kirch for his versatile and meticulous efforts. The other elected officers are: Treasurer Andrea Fischer; Secretary Sarah Thorn; Board Members André Ebbing, Jost Harneke, Martin Zöller, Raphael Danner, Heinz Moosmann, Martina Wolsiffer, and Markus Kirch; Auditors Barbara Scheidel-Schultz and Karin Kirch.

It was also mentioned that there had often been a shortage of volunteers, to the point that dissolution was even considered. However, this was countered by the desire to build on what had already been achieved. Thus, the Friends Association put the “subsidized operation” Weiße Grube, or Bergbauerlebniswelt, on a sound financial footing. In addition, there were events such as the concert by “Anonyme Giddarischde” and the comedy nights (in November, “Maddin” Schneider will be coming to Imsbach). New technical equipment and a stage curtain were purchased for the community hall. In the future, the association plans to get involved in the planned renovation of Brunnenplatz.
